Questions & Answers:  On Sunday, May 28th, Canon Jason Alexander will lead Adult Forum, providing members an opportunity to learn more about the process of calling St. Andrew’s next rector. Please, plan on being present and ready with your questions at 9:15 in Keller Hall.
Graduation Celebration:  David Jackson-Lockyer, our longtime acolyte, is graduating from Mountain Home High School. We want to recognize his achievement and express our appreciation for all his years of service at St. Andrew’s with a celebration after the 10:30 service on May 28th.  Congratulations, David!

Church Picnic:  Save the date for our annual church picnic which will be held at the Bull Shoals Park Pavilion on June 3rd beginning at 5:00 pm.  The Men’s Group will be cooking hamburgers, hot dogs, and brats.

Episcopal Church Women Summer Quest 2017:

From Friday, June 2, 9:00 am – Sunday, June 4,10:30 am the ECW will host a retreat at Camp Mitchell. The Rev. Amber Carswell, associate priest at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, will be leading a Quiet Day with “Prayer In Pentameter” on Friday. The Rev. Lindsay Hardin Freeman, a Minnesota priest and author, will speak on Friday evening and Saturday on the subject, “Strengthening Our Spiritual DNA; The Faith of Our Foremothers.” Lindsay will be joined by her poet-priest husband the Rev. Leonard Freeman who will lead several rounds of the popular Bible Women Game. Register online soon.

Changes to the Bulletin: Beginning in June we will be using preprinted inserts in our bulletin which provide the Collect and Lessons in large print. Church Publishing offers these at about the same cost of printing them ourselves and purchasing them will reduce the amount of time required to prepare our bulletin. The worship committee will work with Carolyn to make other changes in the bulletin to simplify it further. Please be patient with us as we work to create a new, user friendly format.

Lay Ministry Training: Thank you to all who participated in the training sessions held in the past week. These new volunteers are much needed and appreciated.

Coffee Hosts Needed: Please let Carolyn know if you are able to provide this for the June 4th, 8:00 service.

What’s Happening at St. Andrew’s

The Week of May 14, 2017

 Announcements

Mark Your Calendars:  On behalf of the Vestry and the Parish, our Men’s Group is hosting “A Fish Fry Goodbye!” Saturday, May 20, at 4 pm in Keller Hall. Come celebrate the ministry of Father Jim and Cathy McDonald at St. Andrew’s with an old-fashioned fish fry, celebratory beverages and homemade desserts.  This will be a great time to show our love and appreciation. With some good imagination, we may “fry” other than fish! Regrets only, please, call 425-3560 and leave a message. Want to help? or have questions?  Call Curt Knoll, 405-1809.

Pub Theology Plus: Join us Wednesday, May 17, for a special time of fun and fellowship at Arena Grill. We have reserved a private room for our last Pub Theology with Father Jim and Cathy. Let’s pack the house!

Graduation Celebration:  David Lockyer, our longtime acolyte, is graduating from Mountain Home High School on May 19th!  We want to recognize his achievement and express our appreciation for all his years of service at St. Andrew’s with a celebration after the 10:30 service on May 28th.  Congratulations, David!

Lay Ministry Training:   Having an adequate number of lay ministers will be even more important in the coming months as we search for our next rector.  This Sunday, May 14th, during Forum (from 9:00 to 10:00 am), Father Jim will provide training for members to serve as acolytes, Eucharistic Ministers, Lay Eucharistic Visitors (LEM’s), readers, and worship leaders.  We are in need of all of these.

Questions & Answers:  On Sunday, May 28th, Canon Jason Alexander will lead Adult Forum, providing members an opportunity to learn more about the process of calling St. Andrew’s next rector. Please, plan on being present and ready with your questions at 9:15 in Keller Hall.

Church Picnic:  Save the date for our annual church picnic which will be held at the Bull Shoals Park Pavilion on June 3th beginning at 5:00 pm.  The Men’s Group will be cooking hamburgers, hot dogs, and brats.

Newsline: Copies of the May issue are available in the Narthex for those who do not receive it electronically.
